I officially complete my Assistant Principal job and become Head of Maths on 1st September. I spent the to start with week of the vacations receiving stuck into Head of Maths stuff, which I totally liked. I built a variety of curriculum alterations, rewrote our schemes of function, created assessments, prepared 1st classes, that kind of detail… I’ve also spent some time setting up lessons for Certificate of More Maths which I’ll be educating for the to start with time from September. I have a class of 32 great Year 11 mathematicians raring to go. Soon after taking a four calendar year crack from training A level to set up a new school, it is beautiful to have calculus back again in my life. And trig identities! As a great deal as I’ve appreciated concentrating on Important Phases 3 and 4 for the past several yrs, these subjects are my delighted put.

I am off on holiday getaway with my family for two months tomorrow – we are heading to a cottage in Cornwall. I are not able to wait. When I get again, I’m on the lookout forward to a few of chilled weeks at the stop of August, together with catching up with maths instructors at Dr Frost’s triannual beverages.
